We love her!

We met the Lieutenant Governor of New mexico, Diane Denise. She is running for Governor of New Mexico and we think she is great! She signed the Hillcar.. with "Hillary is my girl!" We really liked her! I hope she becomes Governor!

iPod touch

here is the first post on my birthday present from Shawnee. An iPod touch lots to figure out

How much do I love press?

well, LOTS! I do wish I was a better speaker though, but I've got the visuals pretty well covered! I was interviewed by 4 different news stations... channel 4, 7, 9, and one other I think. I didn't see even one of the interviews, but was told I was on the news. The guys in this photo said they came to do a story on phone banking and were very relieved to see me and the Hillcar... more fun!

More desiree!

Chili and I think Desiree will someday be involved in politics... maybe the Governor of Texas... maybe even a future president! In any case, Hillary is making it possible for little girls to dream big!

Here's Anna from El Paso

I met Anna at HC Headquarters in El Paso the first day we went there. She really liked my bumpersticker coat and asked me if I wouldn't mind if she made one for the Bill Clinton rally that evening. Of-course I was flattered! However, for the record, I stole the idea from someone else ( it's on an earlier blog!). Anna looked fantastic that night at the Bill Clinton rally! The next night we met Anna and her sister Terry again after WE WON TEXAS!... and those girls proceeds to party us all over El Paso! We ended up eating delicious Mexican food at 3 AM! I'm hoping Anna has started on her own Hillcar by now... this girl is a mover and a shaker!

Desiree and Chili

Chili and I had the most excellent fortune of having a young girl named Desiree help us out at the El Paso primaries. She took over our job of cheering and waving Hillary signs when we took a leisurely lunch break. When we returned Desiree wore a Hillary mask and stood on a chair to wave at primary and caucus goers till way after dark. Thanks so much, Desiree!

What a trip!

I'm still on cloud 9 from my trip to El Paso! I have so many stories to tell, and new Hillary friends to introduce you all to... but I just got home to Bisbee and now have to go to work! Here is a photo I took of Bill Clinton at the rally in El Paso on Monday night where he signed both Chili and my Melmac plates! I'll take a photo of the Melmac and post it tomorrow! He wanted to know how I made the plates, and he really liked them. He held them up to the crowd!
The next question is how to swing going to Pennsylvania and making a Hillcar there! Thanks for following along!
Love, Gretchen

We won!

Hi everyone, I'm still not back home so I can't post photos of my trip just yet. I'm in San Diego were we saw Leslie Hall perform last night. Well, today is my birthday and I got the biggest, best gift I could possibly dream of... having Hillary win Texas!.... and Ohio, and Rhode Island! (Thanks Maria!) Chili and I absolutely LOVE El Paso! I can't wait to go back again! People had told me before I went that El Paso sucks... they couldn't have been more wrong! First of all the architecture is to die for! All from the 1900's with elaborate facades, gargoyles, columns, gilding, etc. Our hotel was incredible! Giant tiffany dome, crystal chandeliers etc. But the best thing about El Paso is the people...El Paso is the friendliest city I've ever been in... hands down! We made lots of new friends we look forward to visiting again! El Paso is Hillary country! We felt like we were in Hillary lalaland, and of-course the Hillcar was a hit!
I'll post photos tomorrow. Oh, did I say we saw Bill Clinton speak and he signed our Melmac plates?

travel itinerary

Here's our tentative plan, to be changed at any time! I pick Chili up in Tucson this morning and off we go down Highway 10 towards El Paso. Tonight, instead of going right into El Paso, we spend the night in Mesilla, NM. A small colonial town about 45 minutes out of El Paso. Mesilla is known for it's Chilis and civil war history. If you know my friend Chili, you know we need to go here ( she doesn't know about this yet!) Chili is a huge Civil war buff and is in-fact driving back to Bisbee this coming weekend to go to Piccacho peak's civil war re-enactment. A friend of mine form the Vineyard, "Run-around Sue", will be meeting us in Mesilla this evening as she is heading in the same direction.
Tomorow, off to El Paso! First we drop in to Hillary headquarters and get our marching orders. Hopefully we stir up some press too! As Madonna once said, "what good is doing anything if no one is there to watch?"
I am going to make reservations this morning at El Paso's only historic hotel, "The El Camino Real", in downtown EL Paso. Built in 1914, this hotel Known for it's tiffany, chandeliers, giant ballroooms, beautiful architecture, and the best bar in the southwest according to Bill's writer friend, Chuck Bowden. This extravagance comes compliments of Judy Nagle! This is how I've decided to spend that 100.00, Judy!
We then spend Tuesday at polling locations, and whatever the campaign needs... as long as it sounds fun to us!
Tuesday night, after the polls close, we get the hell out of El paso, and back on the road to stay somewhere on the way to Tucson... who knows! Then Wed. evening we fly to San Diego for a Leslie Hall show! Yea! Then it's my birthday ( March 6th)... 45 years old!

Getting ready to go to Texas!

I have 20 million things I have to do today, including working tonight, to be ready to pick up Chili in Tucson tomorrow morning!
I better get on the stick! We will head directly to El Paso and be there Sunday night! Even though El Paso is only 5 hours away, this will be the longest trip I've ever taken with my 1989 Toyota! I need all the old car luck I can get!
