Wendy and Bonnie, Genesis

Today is a day to forget about politics and celebrate some of the great 60's singer/songwriters. I just downloaded "The Best of Free Design", who brought us such fun 60's hits as "Kites are fun!", and "Bubbles".
I suggest you download on I-tunes this wonderful album, "Genesis", by Wendy and Bonnie Flower.

Wendy and Bonnie were the quintessential San Francisco flower children. Wendy was 17 and Bonnie was 13 in 1969 when "Genesis" was released. The album quickly disappeared at the time because the record company, "Skye records" went bankrupt.
Today, however, it's considered a cult classic album. Their songs are gorgeous and sweet.
Wendy still lives in the San Francisco area, in her little house by the sea. She teaches art to kids and continues to make music.
One of these days, she says, she will come to Bisbee and play for us.

I can't wait for that day to arrive! Going to Tucson to check out Colleena's new art/yoga space. I want today to be an art day too! Bubbles & Kites are Fun will be my motto today!

It's a great motto for a sunny day of goofing off!
Talked with Wendy Flower today, she says she'll write in to the blog sometime soon!

Well in keeping with the theme Bubbles etc. my van broke down in front of SUNFLOWER market, and we never got to go any other places planned. Luckily I have AAA plus and we were towed back to Bisbee slowly in an old tow rig, going 45 miles most of the way back and reaching a low of 17mph going up the divide. For a breakdown, it was pretty pleasant and almost like flying a kite?

Kites are fun but break-downs are not!
