Sarah Palin and sexism

I'd like to address the issue of sexism regarding Sarah Palin. It seems some people do not want us to discuss Sarah Palin at all if we aren't regaling her with praise. The reason they give is sexism.
Meanwhile, they proudly wear buttons like this one.

First of all, calling discussing Sarah Palin's daughter's pregnancy "sexist" is ridiculous. The issue of pro/anti choice is her number one issue. If she becomes Vice President she will see to it that Roe VS. Wade is over-turned so fast it will make our heads spin. This makes it OUR issue. She wants to take away our freedom of choice. She wants sex Ed classes in schools to be replaced with creationism classes. She wants kids to be taught abstinence instead of teaching them about contraceptives.
If she becomes our Vice President, we will over-populate the earth so with unwanted children so fast the earth may never be able to recover. As Sarah as clearly illustrated, abstinence is not a viable birth control method. Aids will be out of control, as well as sexually transmitted diseases. People will be forced to have children regardless of whether they are raped, a victim of incest, or in dire health situations.
Because Sarah may have the ability to inflict these realities upon each one of us, I think we SHOULD be talking about her family situation.

I don't support Sarah Palin because I strongly disagree with her beliefs, beliefs that if given the opportunity she will inflict upon all of us. I believe we need to protect our environment and save our endangered species, not sport hunt them into extinction. I believe we need to control our over-population, not breed until we choke the earth. I believe the well-being of our planet MUST come first. I do not believe that Sarah Palin has anyone's interests at heart but her own.

Calling this conversation "sexist" and "off-limits" is divisive bullshit. Where were these supposed "whistle-blowers of sexism" for the last year and a half when Hillary was running for President? It seemed a lot of people and the media never gave a second thought to sexism when they insulted Hillary for everything but her issues. Well, we are talking about Sarah's issues here, issues that need to be discussed before she has the chance to change laws and forcefully change our lives forever.
We have no time to waste. Let's talk.

I just think the Rudy/Sarah show was very sad last night. Here they go again with the 9/11 fear tactics. No real answers about the economy, except drill baby drill for oil.And what about that poor baby,it was past back and forth like they were not sure who's baby it was.Even Cindy McCain had it for a while till it ended up with Piper Palin who then licked it like it was a lost kitten.

Yes, I thought it all very odd. I don't recall Sarah's plan of action though. Besides railing on Obama and introducing her family, I didn't hear much of an actual plan. I was listening...... but did I miss something?

Step away for a minute to gain some perspective. In the REAL world everyone's just calling bullshit.

I'm not following you. Are you saying that everyone see this as bullshit, or that everyone believes in this stuff?

Bravo!

I see this "sexist" crap as a type of forced censorship that is just plain stupid!

I am hoping the media won't be fooled into cowering in the corner over these Rovian directives. I know I won't be!

Thought of this name for your girl, don't know if it's been used before or if I get the credit, but today I've started calling that skank "Palin Comparison".

She's a nutbag. BUT, she is compelling to the Repugs on several fronts including the personal attacks on Obama. Had Hillary been given the nomination, Palin's attacks (and McCain's) would have fallen on deaf ears because they would have been forced to rely on the old, tired ones like "tax and spend liberal", "big govt", "socialized" medicine, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, Joe Six-pack is wondering WTF.

Obama never embraced the idea of individual rights (all of them - voting rights, consumer rights, reproductive rights, civil rights, worker's rights, etc) as the mantlepiece of his message. And then he didn't pick Hillary to indicate at least a nod in that direction. Sorry but Biden (D-MBNA) doesn't cut it.

The Dems did not unify under a platform that, yes, didn't win them the last two elections, but this time probably would have.

Joe Six-Pack is voting McCain regardless of his VP choice because he identifies with the weird populism in the Repug message.

Even though I live in a "progressive" bubble, I'm keenly aware of the simple fact that Joe Six-Pick still calls the elections.

He put Reagan in, he put Bush Jr in twice and now, god bless him, he'll swing to McCain.

Done. End of Story. Good Night. Wake me up in 2012.

Hmmm... you got me there, Sarah. America does have a history of some pretty scary choices.

Oh Sarah, don't throw in the towel that easily! Do not give up yet! I really really think the Democrats do have a big chance of winning and I will continue to have the faith that vision will come true. America is really fired up for Obama, don't lose sight of that.

I miss the old Democratic party. The party that gave us the Ku Klux Klan and the Jim Crow laws.

this blog provides good evidence as to why not *everybody* should vote.

Sarah Palin will overturn Roe vs Wade? However would she get the power to do that? Not exactly a lot of IQ points behind that statement.

Just goes to show: Obama fans work on prejudice, not on IQ. Prejudice is so much easier... hehe
