Here's a couple of fashions I made for New Year's Eve
This coat is made of plastic bags, in each bag is a glow stick, to be cracked tonight.
I made this one a week or so ago, it's made out of tinsel. It is extremely warm.
This is the best of all! This was made by my dear friend Mo McCoy. I love it! I guess this means it's official.... I AM the Art Ambassador for Hillary Clinton!
I think it's going to be an excellent year... with Barrack and Hillary at the helm, we are in good hands!
Tonight's the big night here in Bisbee! Flam Chen rolled in yesterday afternoon and the house is full of woodland sprites. They are camped out below my house in their bus that got tagged two nights ago in Tucson.
The weather is gorgeous... nearly 70 degrees! Many thanks to everyone for helping make this New Year's spectacular! Thanks to your generosity, we've collected over 5,000 bucks in the last two weeks! Noone can deny, Bisbee knows the power of the party.
The Top Secret Plan, "Operation Bello", was foiled last night when actress Maria Bello failed to appear at "Cafe Roka", where I work.
Maria is engaged to the son of one of the H.C.A.'s highest ranking Sergeants, Sergeant Etta.
Maria and Bryn talking with Etta at the premiere of "The Mummy".
I met Maria and Bryn the other day when they were shopping with Etta at the local vintage store. When I spotted that Etta had made reservations for four last night, I jumped to the wrong conclusion, and began making preparations for "Operation Bello"!
Maria and Bryn
I guess I can reveal the Top Secret Plan to you now that Maria and Bryn have left town.
"Operation Bello" involves getting Maria to dance on a table-top wielding a sword, like in the movie, "Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor", in which she stars. The plan involved a fabulous bottle of wine I had set aside, a table on an empty floor, more wine, and a wooden sword. My boyfriend Shawnee promised he would build a studio for me in the month of January if I could accomplish this nearly impossible feat.
You see, my life's work as "Art Ambassador for Hillary Clinton" can begin in earnest just as soon as I have a studio!
This plan involves all of you, Dear H.C.A., as we are all "Art Ambassador's for Hillary Clinton", and we must start somewhere. You must admit, this is a ridiculously stupid "Hillary Clinton Army" place to begin! We MUST get Maria to dance on a table top for us A.S.A.P.! Our future depends on it!
Bisbee is looking very festive today covered in snow.
Even Hillary on the Hillcar got into the mood!
Natural pattern of snow on the hood of my car.
Lantern making party Monday night at Elmos bar, 6 PM. Bring lantern-making supplies, any old thing you think might work with a glow stick inside or hanging from.
Well, in this case it's... housing, helping or cash, but that doesn't sound as cool. Spread the word, we need everybody's help! We are still a thousand buck short on our New Year's Flam Chen extravaganza, plus we need help making lanterns, and extra hands during the event.
It seems you can't swing a dead cat in Bisbee without hitting another fascinating person! Last night I went out swinging dead cats and who should I hit but the lovely Jill Japan!
Jill and I talked about the reasons why we are so lucky to live in this little town of Bisbee, Arizona. This town rare gem for many reasons, the main one being the people who live here. Whether you are a millionaire or you live on the street, whether you are young or old, educated or not, whatever you do for a living.... this is not important. What is important is who you really are and what you bring to the table. Most people here have traveled far and wide and chose Bisbee as their home because of these unique qualities. This is a great place to find the freedom pursue your dreams, and the support and encouragement from those around you to actualize them.
Ever since I was a child and inherited a copy of record "C'est Ci Bon", I have been a huge fan of Eartha Kitt. I am sorry to her of her passing. We love you, Eartha!
To me, her version of "Lilac Wine"is one of the most haunting melodies of all time.
HOT OFF THE PRESS! A long-since-buried family secret has just been revealed to me, and I think it's so exciting I must reveal it to you right away, Dear Reader!
My ancient New England ancestry is more fascinating than I could have ever imagined! My long lost cousin, (my middle name-sake), is none other than the legendary (drum roll please...) LIZZIE BORDEN!
Before any of my family try to make this THEIR claim to fame, I'm off and running with it!
Note the family resemblance....
Lizzie wouldn't have ben my first choice as my newly discovered long lost cousin, but beggars can't be choosers! I feel certain that I'm related to Cleopatra, but I can't prove it, so I guess Lizzie it is!
Here's a little message from singer/songwriter Wendy Flower. Her album "Genesis" is one of my all-time favorites. Check out some of the songs from that album as well as her new music here! Wendy Flower We love you, Wendy!

"Hi Gretchen,
Wishing you and all the Bisbee Bunch a wonderful holiday and a happy, healthy 2009. Thank you for the lovely Hillary booklet. Keep the momentum going.
I'm not really a Christmas kind of person, but since it involves colored lights, glitter, costumes, food, parties, and GRACE JONES! I guess I can get into it a bit!
It's Officially PARTY SEASON so break out your glitter high heels and hot pants! We've got parties to attend from now through the New Year! At that point we all fly off in a big balloon... really! If the parties don't rock in your town then come on down to Bisbeetown, and join the fun!
I couldn't let this holiday season pass by without taking the time to thank you for all the wonderful support you've given me. I've received so many kind messages in the last few weeks, and I can't tell you how much your friendship means to me.
As I celebrate the holidays with my family, I'll be thinking about all our wonderful memories from the past year. I hope you'll take the time to remember all the things we accomplished together and all the lives we touched.
I know that I am forever changed because of the journey you and I shared. It goes without saying that we have a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Even in the midst of great challenges here at home and around the world, we know change is coming and there is reason to have hope for a brighter future.
Thank you so much for everything, and I hope you have a very happy holiday season!
I have decided to leave my bell tower in New York for the winter, and will be back in the Spring. I miss you and carry an old photo of you and I together, everywhere I go.
Life here in Bisbee is fun. I've made a new friend named Louise who is a sock monkey. She has been teaching me about the finer points of Christmas and why it is the best time of the year.
There is an abundance of food and parties at this time of year. After years of living on stale bread crumbs I can't believe my eyes!
The pate is so abundant in Bisbee, nobody seems to mind if I take a walk on it.
There seems to be no end of wine here. Louise and I took a refreshing bird bath in the wine cooler.
Then we hung around by the red wine ( my favorite) until Gretchen busted into the private stock, and opened up a bottle of the good stuff for us!
Louise had to go home, but I stayed a while longer and played in the Christmas stockings.
I see what Louise means, Christmas is really fun!
I know you are busy, Debbie, but please write when you can.
The Hillary Clinton Army has been disbanded until further notice. If and when our services are needed again... we will fire this blog back up, put on our Polyester Pantsuits, and kick some ass!
