HOT OFF THE PRESS!
A long-since-buried family secret has just been revealed to me, and I think it's so exciting I must reveal it to you right away, Dear Reader!
My ancient New England ancestry is more fascinating than I could have ever imagined! My long lost cousin, (my middle name-sake), is none other than the legendary (drum roll please...) LIZZIE BORDEN!
Before any of my family try to make this THEIR claim to fame, I'm off and running with it!
Note the family resemblance....
Lizzie wouldn't have ben my first choice as my newly discovered long lost cousin, but beggars can't be choosers!
I feel certain that I'm related to Cleopatra, but I can't prove it, so I guess Lizzie it is!

It's not my fault Lizzie is my ancestor, you know! No making fun of me! I can't help who I am!
Oh my god Gretchen, you are too funny for words, so that's it for now!
Hey... I am not so distantly related to Al Gore... in fact, rather closely... in fact... TOO closely...
It is true.. you can pick your nose.. .you can pick your friends... but only... your family can pick your friend's nose.. or something to that effect...
I have no idea what that is supposed to mean... so...
Fool me once... shame on you...
Fool me twice... ummm... won't be fooled again...
(No, I know that is a GWB quote... just kind of how this evening is feeling)
Diane is all Mayflower decended... so.. drive a Plymouth with Rock Hudson... to the levee... but the levee was dry... and good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye.. singing this'll be the day that I die....
Well I better not give you any grief at work... don't want to end up dismembered! So, met anyone interesting last night? I will bring the Hill sign with me today, see you soon!
I think I'm related to John Wayne. Not nearly as exciting as being related to Lizzie Borden. How cool is that. And, yes, I do think I see the resemblance. Yes, indeed.
Well, David, Al Gore is pretty cool, not bad!
John Wayne, very Old West of you, Charlene!
Wow, fa REEEL??? How'dja find out?
My coolest relative isn't known by name (except for by afficionados) but he built all those spooky/gorgeous horses and other critters on the old merry-go-rounds.
Interesting. My grandfather was a merry-go-round expert too!
Hey Charlene, You mean Marion? That's pretty impressive to me! I am gonna have to give up another one of my precious cards you made to send to some folks that are dear to me, that just left town and moved to North Carolina!
Really? In what way? He was probably too young to know Charles Carmel?
He made a working exact replica miniature of the Martha's Vineyard Flying horses ( which claims to be the oldest in the nation). It's all hand carved.
His "Flying Horses" went on exhibition in the Smithsonian, and he has a horse named after him on the MV carousal.
So he's a different kind of expert, but one none the less.
We are all proud of him for his great achievement. He died the week he finished it.
